Can drones teach engineering and peace?

Austin Choi-Fitzpatrick and Gordon Hoople said that this is possible. This dream team created a class for engineering students and peace studies students to think about what kind of problems can be solved using drones. This class include lab work (dirt work) and reflection about technology, society and peace.

After their small talk (less than two minutes!), Gordon and Austin encourage participants to think about how this kind of classes can be more social justice oriented.

This space was also useful for the participants to think critically about the relation between social sciences and engineering.

After this great panel, a lot of new ideas were presented and collected. Some of the participants now can see that liberal arts and engineering can work together.
